Hey, y’all! I can’t remember a time in my life that golf hasn’t been an integral part of — I’ve had a club in my hands for over two decades! While I love playing at my home country club, one of my favorite things to do is to find new golf courses to play. The best part? We have so many options here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. As such, I’m excited to share my guide to Golfing In Shelby County Kentucky!

Shelbyville Country Club: 47 Smithfield Rd, Shelbyville, KY 40065

A private country club, Shelbyville County Club welcomes visitors to play the beautiful, challenging course. Measuring under 6,400 yards from the back tees, the course at Shelbyville Country Club may look easy on paper; however, it is a course full of vigor! The course feautures deceiving greens, mature trees, tight landing spots, and gently-bending fairways. If you haven’t teed off at Shelbyville Country Club, which was designed by Buck Blankenship in 1934, you must!

Clear Creek Golf Center: 717 Burks Branch Rd, Shelbyville, KY 40065
Constructed in 1989, Clear Creek Golf Course and Practice Range is proudly a part of the Shelby County/Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department. It’s one of the most fun 9 hole courses that I have played in Kentucky! Featuring six par 3s and three par 4s, golfers of all skill levels enjoy playing at Clear Creek. Carts are available, though many choose to walk the course! One 9-hole round is equal to approximately a two-mile walk.

Note: Clear Creek Golf Course offers three sets of tee markers for golfers. These markers include a forward tee, front nine tee, and a back nine tee for the same nine from a different view. Play is on an open basis with the first tee operating as “first come, first serve” seven days a week.
