Hey, y’all! If there’s one store that I adore in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, it’s Wakefield-Scearce. Located in historic Downtown Shelbyville, it’s an antique gallery that focuses on fine English antiques. Popular in English decor, they also have a wonderful selection of chinoiserie-style home decor and furnishings. While the gallery is always worth a visit year-round, there’s no better time to experience its magic than seeing Christmas at Wakefield-Scearce.

Housed in an esteemed brick building, Wakefield-Scearce boasts one of the largest collections/inventories of silver and fine, antique English furniture in the United States. Most of the items that you find in the shop are of European descent – and they are top-tier to say the least!

Upon walking in the front door, you will be greeted by one of the most stunning Christmas trees that you’ll ever lay eyes on! It’s huge — and immaculately decorated, though there’s no surprise there.

Each room has a tree, all of which are decorated differently. It’s as gorgeous as it sounds (if not more). The ornaments are available for purchase – and there are many other decor items spread around the gallery amongst the English antiques. If a home was outfitted by Wakefield-Scearce for the holiday season, it would be the standout in the neighborhood — that I assure you.

Have A Meal At The Red Lion While There

The Red Lion at Science Hill is a historic, Tudor-style restaurant in Shelbyville, KY. They provide their guests with an upscale dining experience featuring fresh, local ingredients and New American cuisine. Apart from their mouthwatering menu, they also have 120+ whiskies for you to choose from!
